“Scientific-Technological Conferences: CIDCA 50 years building the future”

On November 9 and 10, 2023, the “Scientific-Technological Conferences: CIDCA – 50 years building the future” were held at the Convention Center of the Sergio Karakachoff building of the National University of La Plata. They addressed topics related to Technology and the Food Industry, attended by researchers and other members of our center, authorities and special guests.

Present during the opening of the conference were the president of the National University of La Plata, Dr. Martín López Armengol, the dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences, Dr. Mauricio Erben, and the director of CONICET La Plata, Dr. Carlos Della Védova. and the director of CIDCA, Dr. Andrea Gómez Zavaglia.

The topics developed by the speakers were about “Food and Health”, “Bioeconomy and Sustainability”, “Processing Technologies”, “CIDCA Projection to the Environment” and “Present and Future of Food”

This scientific-technological event marked an important milestone: 50 years of experience dedicated to building a future in the field of food science and technology. The presence of former members who now work in industries, both inside and outside the country, shows the impact and legacy of CIDCA in the training of professionals and its contribution to development in various sectors.

France, Sandra Ailan former Mondelez Internatinal, Ricardo Zamponi - Professor Libre UNLP, Susana Álvarez from CERELA, Pilar Buera and Ana Pilosof from ITAPROQ, Gabriel Vinderola from INLAIN, Alejandro Mentaberry from IUDPT, Jorge Renheimer Professor Emeritus UNL, Luciano Lopez Jauregui from Molinos Río de La Plata Argentina, Cecilia Lopez Feybli from BIMBO QSR, Eitel Pelzer Meschini. Abiotec SA, Marta Lores Aguin. LIDSA Spain, Osvaldo Campanella from Ohio State University, Gustavo Schujman from INMET SA and Mariana Brizzio from NotCo, Chile.

During these two days, an atmosphere full of memories and recognition was generated, with great attendance from members and former members of CIDCA.

The closing came with the final words of the current director, Dr. Andrea Gómez-Zavaglia, who paid tribute to those who contributed to the growth and success of the institute but who are no longer physically present.

This celebration reinforced the ties between all the members of our center, generating a sense of community and pride in the achievements achieved, 50 years of history, innovation and passion at CIDCA. During these commemorative days, we have shared emotions that reflect our commitment and pride for everything we have achieved and for what is yet to come on our path to the future.
