CIDCA researchers in the ranking of chemistry 2024

Three CIDCA researchers were recognized among the most outstanding scientists in Chemistry according to Research.com's 2024 ranking

The Center for Research and Development in Food Science and Technology (UNLP-CONICET-CIC) proudly celebrates the inclusion of three of its researchers in the fourth edition of Research.com's international ranking in the discipline of Chemistry. María Cristina Añón, Noemí Zaritzky and Alejandra García, who were recognized among the most outstanding scientists in Argentina.

This prestigious ranking is based on consolidated data from internationally recognized bibliometric databases, such as OpenAlex and CrossRef, and was last updated on November 27, 2024. The ranking is based on the D-index, a metric that exclusively evaluates impact in a specific discipline (in this case, Chemistry), considering only publications and citations in that field. This approach allows the precise identification of those who have made significant contributions within their area of specialization.

At the national level, Argentina ranks 37th in the global ranking of Chemistry, with a total of 33 outstanding scientists, including the three CIDCA researchers. The National University of La Plata is the institution with the largest number of outstanding researchers in the country, which reinforces the key role it plays in the development of national science.

Dr. María Cristina Añón was also positioned as the best-placed Argentine scientist in the ranking, with a D index of 73, which reflects her long career and excellent scientific production.

This international recognition is a sign of the commitment, strength and projection of the work carried out at CIDCA, as well as of the value of the Argentine public scientific system.
